Crafty Goodness

I made these premie booties and hat for a friend whose little one arrived early. Mom loves the color orange. I'm going to send them off tomorrow so they can be used before she outgrows them. I was inspired to make these after visiting the artist consignment shop in Wellesley.

Where Have I Been???

Hello everyone!

I've surfaced again and am ready to get back to thinking about my embroidery business. Here's the latest:

On the home front...

Well, tragedy struck the Johnston household on May 15th. Our cat Betty went MIA. She still hasn't returned which makes everyone except Boo--our other cat--sad. I like to visualize her being spoiled at a distant neighbor's house as opposed to other darker outcomes. We miss you Betty!

On a happier note, that same weekend grandma and grandpa came for a visit and to see Lauren perform in a dance recital. They also got to see her ride Ollie--her favorite horse from the barn where she takes lessons. Here is Ollie (not Lauren riding him though...). Lauren may be in her first horse show in mid June. She is very excited about that.

We spent the holiday weekend having family fun. We went swimming on Sunday and we went to the beach today. We're all a tad sunburned. We played a few family games, did a puzzle and played Wii.

We're generally busy planning our summer which is thankfully here. Lauren and I are heading to Michigan mid June to see family and friends. We're leaving poor Chad here to work and to take care of Boo. In July our friends the T family are coming to visit and we're very excited about that. In August, Lauren and I are heading back to Michigan to stay with the T family kids while their parents get a bit of adult R&R. Looking forward to seeing everyone in MI!

On the work front...

I start teaching an online course June 3rd which will suck up all of my 'free' time. I don't expect to make much progress on the business side of things beyond some basic legal and banking stuff for the business. I also want to touch base with my mother-in-law AJ about getting involved again. She's been super busy but I hope that things will settle down for her over the next few months. Stay tuned.

Take care!

Gloria
